J o a n C o l t H o o p e r is interested in spaces through values and shapes and colors. Most of her themes have to do with the sea. She has always lived by the water; heard and felt the roll of the ocean, the lap of the waves, and the sound of the storms. Joan enjoys painting scenes with lighthouses, birds and flowers. It is the calmness and serenity that is most appealing to the artist.
